What is the appropriate balance?


Is it contradictory to insist that the government should not use tax dollars for health coverage for citizens, but demand that it increase spending on security measures?  Aren't both related to safety?

We as individuals must give up a certain level of privacy when our collective security demands it.


As for whether it's contradiction: absolutely not!  An individual can not provide security for himself/herself against terrorism, but an individual can work and pay for his or her own insurance coverage!
